I started to know her accidentally, when I borrowed my sister’s mp3s. I found Andrea’s album, Moon River. Because I’m a big fan of Henry Mancini’s Moon River – & also Breakfast at Tiffany’s – so I copied the album. I was lucky, I think, ‘coz the songs are wonderful! They’re all remade, but I don’t see anything wrong for it.
One of them titled ‘what the world needs now is love’. Yeah, this world’s really lack of love. If there’s enough love for everyone, not just for some, then there’ll be no wars or fights. Here are my fave lines of this song:
Lord, we don’t need another mountains. There are mountains and hillsides enough to climb, there are oceans and rivers enough ch to cross, enough to last ’til the end of time.
Lord, we don’t need another meadows. There are cornfields and wheatfields enough to grow, there are sun beams and moon beams enough to shine. Oh listen Lord, if You wanna know.
Yes, God created this world with enough mountains, rivers, meadows… But people destroyed them. Now we don’t have enough rivers or meadows. The lack of love made us lost those what God gave us. This song made me think a bit more about life, about what we’re really lack of. But then, who could produce love and spread it all over the world? I’d love to give as much love as I can, though I don’t achieve much. Giving is much better than achieving. So, spending life by giving love is enough, isn’t it?
Anyway, I wonder who composed this song. Does anybody know?

Akhirnya aku ‘tembus’ ke dunia perorekstraan ibukota juga. Minggu depan konser 25 thn YMJ, bareng OSNI Pro, di Balai Sarbini. Setelah 6 thn main biola plus lika-likunya, akhirnya aku berhasil nebeng OSNI di konser itu jadi pemain viola.
Panik. Gara2 part-nya baru nyampe kemaren, pdhl malem ini udah cabs ke BSD. & lebih panik lagi waktu liat ‘toge-toge’ spesies baru (maxudnya ritmik & melodi yg ga biasa). Oiya, repertorinya Chopin’s Piano Concerto no.1, Bruch’s Violin Concerto no.1, & Aus Holbergs Zeit. Mungkin bagi mereka yg udah biasa malang melintang di orkes pro biasa aja ya, tapi aku kan baru kali ini ikut. Mana ga pernah sekolah musik. Mana belajar musiknya ‘abal-abal’ alias otodidak yg ga tau arah pendidikan musik yg jelas….
Kalo dipikir-pikir, padahal hidupku bisa lebih mudah tanpa yg namanya biola bersaudara itu. Aku bisa 100% di dunia desain. Nyari kerja pastinya gampang wong aku cumlaude & berdasarkan pengalaman KP tahun lalu rasanya semua bisa di-handle dgn baik lah. Bahasa Inggris juga lumayan. Presentasi mahir. Terus knp aku malah milih dunia yg bersebrangan ini?
Aku milih merangkak dari nol lagi. Membuang semua embel2 sarjana cumlaude-ku, pengalaman KP-ku, seminar2-ku, & jejaring2-ku. Aku memilih untuk menderita, jadi tampak bodoh & amatiran lagi, di bidang yg sama sekali asing. Kenapa aku nggak milih hidup yg santai2 aja & sesuai dgn jenjang pendidikan yg aku ambil sebelumnya? Ada tawaran kerja di konsultan gede kok malah jadi ‘pengamen’….
Apa manusia memang gitu? Nggak pernah puas, selalu penasaran, & nganggap rumput tetangga selalu lebih hijau?
